History
The City of Chicago owned a 0.38-acre green space in the South Loop Community Area of Chicago in an area commonly known as Printers Row. Dating back to the 1880’s, this area was historically home to numerous printing houses and book publishers, leading to its reference as the printing center of the Midwest. In 2013, the City transferred ownership of this property to the Chicago Park District. The official number assigned to this park was Park No. 543. In 2020 this park, a passive green space surrounding a fountain was officially named Printers Row Park.
