Capital Projects & Facilities Currently Available for Partnership:

Playground Program
The Chicago Park District has 520 playgrounds, 280 of which are over 20 years old with outdated equipment that fails to meet current Chicago Park District standards.  Community playgrounds provide significant recreational and social opportunities for our youth, and the renovation of our neighborhood playgrounds is a priority goal in our campaign to encourage health and wellness in our communities.

Our playgrounds are redeveloped in collaboration with the local community.  The new playgrounds include new play equipment for kids between ages 2-12, rubberized soft surfacing, pathway improvements, lighting, seating, and landscaping.  The new playgrounds are intended to be state of the art and meet or exceed ADA accessibility guidelines, including providing ramps to play structures where possible.

Game Point Tennis Court Program
The Chicago Park District maintains over 550 tennis courts.  Game Point is a program to renovate tennis courts district wide.  The renovation program includes resurfacing, restriping, posts and nets at each court.

Ball Field Renovations
The Chicago Park District’s 1,850 ball fields are heavily used by patrons of all ages.  Full renovation of a ball field includes grading and resizing the infield, updating player benches, batting cages, backstop, scoreboard, and view bleachers as needed at each site.
