"Silver: Celebrating 25" & "Wintergreen" Breathe Some Green Life Into Gray Winter Months
Are gray days making you experience Chicago blues? The Chicago Park District’s conservatories are here to brighten up the next few months as the winter begins. The Garfield Park Conservatory, located at 300 N. Central Park Ave., will run its winter show, “Silver: Celebrating 25 Years” from November 24, 2023 through January 5, 2024. The Lincoln Park Conservatory, located at 2391 N. Stockton Dr., will host its show, “Wintergreen” from November 27, 2023 through January 5, 2024. “Our conservatories are an oasis for education and wonder, especially in the winter,” said Chicago Park District Superintendent and CEO Rosa Escareño. “We highly encourage residents to visit these historic structures and admire the intersection of architecture, botany, and visual art.”

Garfield Park Conservatory: “Silver: Celebrating 25 Years”
This year’s Winter Flower Show ‘Silver: Celebrating 25’ puts the spotlight on Garfield Park Conservatory Alliance’s 25th anniversary. Formed by Garfield Park community members in 1998, the Alliance is a non-profit organization that connects people to nature through a broad range of public programming, school partnerships, fundraising initiatives, and more! Learn about the rich 25 years of history through historical photos while enjoying beautiful silver foliage, lush poinsettias in pink and red hues, and more of our favorite winter flowers and plants.
The Garfield Park Conservatory is open Wednesday through Sunday. On Wednesdays the conservatory accepts guests by reservation from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. From Thursday through Sunday, the conservatory accepts guests by reservation from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Lincoln Park Conservatory: “Wintergreen”
This year, immerse yourself in “Wintergreen,” the 2023 Winter Flower Show at the Lincoln Park Conservatory. Featuring a giant green tree silhouette lit by thousands of bright, green LEDs, the space will truly be a “Greenhouse”! This year, the Show House features unique poinsettia colors of gold, green and orange accompanied by salvias, violas and flowing lime ipomea with silver dichondra.
The Lincoln Park Conservatory is open from Wednesday through Sunday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
